Marina and the Diamonds - The Family Jewels = The Best Album of 2010.
I finally got to sit down and listen to Marina and the Diamonds first full debut album "The Family Jewels" and I am so impressed! WOW! I would crown Marina with the best album of 2010 so far, in my opinion (and yours too!) All the tracks are strong and extremely catchy. She has a great music team behind her as I just LOVE the production of this album!
It was released on February 22nd and unfortunately slipped through my brain cracks which was unfortunate, but I wanted to give her the proper spotlight she deserves.
I want to see Marina and the Diamonds live! It could be quite possible now, moving back to Canada and close to Toronto. She should make a stop in London if she knew how awesome a crowed we can be!
There is not one song on this album I don't like. That's a big deal.
I'm going to buy this album. You should check it out too! You won't regret it. Seriously.
I am going to add the track called "Oh No!" which sounds like she worked with some samples from RATATAT.
What do you think?

Grønt Punkt Norge Brings You the Scariest Recyling Commercial You'll Ever Witness!

I can't believe how many men she goes through in a night and then does the most insane thing with their bodies. Grønt Punkt Norge, you got my attention (and gave me nightmares) to recycle for life... Thank you!
"Grønt Punkt Norge AS ("Green Dot Norway plc") is a privately owned non-profit company responsible for financing the recovery and recycling of used packaging on behalf of the industrial sector."
I had to take a print screen of the video because I couldn't embed it within my post. So - click on it, and it will bring you right to the commercial. I promise it is worth it! These crazy Norwegians! I give it to you for insane thoughts and overflowing creativity :D
Click the picture to bring you to the video! It's called "Rinse, Fold and Stuff Him", translated from Norwegian. Enjoy!

Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland in 3D
Wow! I just got back from witnessing another masterpiece from Mr. Burton, and I am in love! The characters were wonderful, and a lot of the story was based on the original "Alice through the looking Glass" with the Jabberwocky.
I felt so connected to Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, that I cried when I got home and the movie was over. He gave me the same feeling as when I watched Edward Scissorhands for the first time, as a young child. I felt I was living through Alice and I didn't want it to end!
Everything was beautiful, including all of the littlest details, like monkeys holding candelabras and everything being heart-shaped. I loved the casting for Alice herself; Mia Wasikowska played a good modest girl who is not too, too pretty but far from ugly. Her connection to the Mad Hatter was a similar connection to that of her father, I felt. It was very nice.
Helena Bonham Carter is a hot mess in this film. She makes me laugh because of her insecure insanity. She did an exceptionable job as the Red Queen. Anne Hathaway of course played the White Queen with such enchantment. :)
And of course the Cheshire Cat! I wanted to take him home with me ... perhaps he is already here and waiting to appear? :D
Tim Burton's movies would not be the same without Danny Elfman's magical musical compositions. Johnny+Danny+Tim = a tri-force of geniousness. Such a special, lovely formula that I hope will never end!
I can't wait for this movie to come out on DVD and to see what else Tim Burton has up his sleeve :)

On My Way To Zeromancer!
I recall standing at church with my gramma beside me; we were bored so she asked me to write down things I wanted for Christmas and I wrote "Orgy album" and as the priest said "Now, lets now bow our heads and pray" my gramma looked at my list and in the loudest whisper said "Orgy!?".
Everyone looked us and we just had to chuckle. I miss that lady so much!
Well, I best be out! :)
Here is my semi confusion picture we were taking tummy shots for tomorrow, it seems to fit.
I will also add a Zeromancer track for your enjoyment! They do the best cover of "Send me an Angel". I will let you know how they are live :D

Granny DJ Rocks Paris Clubs!
69-year-old DJ Ruth is spinning at the most prestigious clubs all over France! This too-hot-to-trot (literally) is starting a new era of mad skills. She's heating up the beats and working her way through Europe. As she said; she wants "kids to have fun!". I really need to book her for a night or perhaps hop over to Paris :)
I would really like to know where she bought her sick-looking, crystal-studded headphones at. I am surprised they aren't knitted! (That would also be awesome, and you heard it here first).
I love her style! This is how I will dress in the future.
Check out this wicked Gramma take the stage! You're never too old :D

Cross Country Skiing In Norway!
This was my second attempt ever at cross country skiing after being re-inspired by the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. My niece Herborg and I decided to ski out to the middle of a frozen lake, and it as a little scary hearing the cracks of ice settling as we went across the lake!
I must say I went pretty far for a pregnant lady! I was proud! The Norwegian scenery is beautiful! One of the many things I will miss, but we will be visiting a lot!

Please Build Me This Aston Martin!

This is just a concept car from Aston Martin, but it's cuter than a doll! (I am pretty sure they wouldn't like that description).
I want it so bad! And it's white!
J'adore!
What do you think of this car? Love it? Hate it?

Olympics Come to a Close... Can I Cry Now?

Last night was a beautiful end to our Olympic games and that USA vs. Canada game was so intense, I actually developed short term tourrettes (which I usually adopt for any exciting/stressful situation) and screamed a bunch of interesting quotes and profanities like "Suck it in, 61!" and the crowd favourite "Shut your mouth in my face!"

I really wish I could have witnessed Richmond Street in London, Ontario, or Younge Street in Toronto or, preferrably, Vancouver - running into the streets in Olympic celebration. I would have painted my face with a flag or designed a really pretty Canadian Flag Dress.

I'd wear it for a curling centerfold. Something that is similar to this one, but better at the top :D
Do you sort of see my idea? You heard it here first! Buy some memorable mittens to smile or cry into while you also deal with this sense of loss. :)
