Bangin'!

Well, after cancelling once - and having awful hair dreams, I finally amassed the courage to cut some bangs! Unfortunately, I had to change how I parted my hair and cut the other way, since I have a huge cow lick on my usual right side part ... scary stuff!

It was a lot puffier earlier today, but I am pretty happy with the result - especially when I have a regular hairdresser (Kristal!) back in Canada - and it is hard to try a new one. But since I got pregnant, my hair's been growing really fast. It has been growing like weeds and I looked like I belonged at the original Woodstock. I was impressed :)

If you are in the Stavanger, Norway, area, you need to check out Barberell! I went to Silje here. Although, if you are in Canada, visit Soul, Mind and Body in Strathroy to see Kristal (just givin' shout outs)!

I was indeed nervous, but I am happy for the change :)

Tired of Feeling Tired? WakeMate to the Rescue!

I really hope this thing lives up to its name.

Like the Sleep Cycle iPhone app I wrote about some days ago, WakeMate is a cell phone app/accessory (although for all phones) that allows you to get the most refreshing sleep possible. It tracks your sleep to wake you at the optimal time and tell you how to improve your sleep quality.

There is the WakeMate application for your phone, which you set to your desired wake-up time. Then you slide the wristband on and go to sleep! They even created an analytics platform so you can see your sleep patterns the wristband has generated from reading your pulse.

This sounds a lot more promising than the Sleep Cycle app.

With the WakeMate, you basically select a 20 minute window that you would like to wake up within. The WakeMate will identify an optimal point for you to wake within that window. An optimal point occurs about once every 20 minutes and waking at one of them will leave you feeling as alert and energized as possible.

They say that after every night of sleep, they upload your information to their servers - and once analyzed, after a few nights of rest, they will be able to tell you optimal sleeping times to improve your sleeping patterns!

You should consider pre-ordering yours today! Check out the site for more info!

Meet Baby Bella The Beagle!

Today I went on a trip with my father-in-law to pick out a Beagle puppy for their forever home! I wish she could have stayed with me, as she slept with her face in my arms the whole one and a half hours driving home!

We decided on naming her Bella (so, very Twilight of me). But, she is the cutest thing ever! I miss her already!

This video came out a little dark, but you can still see that little cutie! :D

I Want Jim Kosek To Be My Local London Weatherman!

Jim Kosek went ballistic when it came to telling the weather of future snow storms surrounding the Baltimore area. Reporting for Accuweather.com, I want to pool a bunch of money together to get him to tell local weather for the London, Middelsex, region of Canada, so I can never forget how my daily and weekly weather will be.

Mr. Kosek screams passion when it comes to epic forecasts. Enjoy his craziness, below!

Sleep Cycle Alarm Clock App for iPhone!

Having trouble sleeping? Do you find you are super tired when your alarm clock goes off in the morning, even though you had a full 8 hours of rest?

Did you know that this iPhone application can detect your sleeping patterns so well that it can tell when you are in your deepest sleep and when you are essentially sleeping lighter, allowing the alarm to wake you at the perfect time for you to feel good?

You set it within a 30-minute window when you would like to wake up and you place your iPhone on the bed between the mattress and the sheet, while letting it charge - and voila!

Did you know that if your alarm wakes you at your most deep sleep, you are actually tired and off the whole day? Crazy!

Here is a graph of a normal sleep cycle. This application does adjust to all different sleeping patterns!

"The Sleep Cycle alarm clock is a bio-alarm clock that analyzes your sleep patterns and wakes you when you are in the lightest sleep phase.

Waking up in the lightest sleep phase feels like waking without an alarm clock - it is a natural way to wake up where you feel rested and relaxed.

Sleep Cycle has become a huge success with a #1 paid app position in many countries, including Germany, Japan and Russia

"It just works. Period. It does exactly what it advertises which is absolutely amazing."
- 5/5 star review at 148apps.com

Since you move differently in bed during the different phases, Sleep Cycle uses the accelerometer in your iPhone to monitor your movement to determine which sleep phase you are in."

You can get this application at the iPhone Store for .99 cents! I would invest in this if I didn't get up so often to go to the bathroom at night. But if you are having a hard time this might be for you :D

Check more about it here!

Happy Birthday, Alice Cooper!

Alice Cooper, also known as Vincent Damon Furnier, turns 62 today! I remember because it's 2 days after my moms birthday.

He has those awesome power songs that I can't get out of my head, like "Poison" and "Billion Dollar Babies", that just remind me of Guitar Hero so much! There is a huge list of awesome songs that Alice Cooper has serenaded us with over the years.

This guy has to be the most normal family dad and regular, avid golfer! Apparently he is pretty amazing at the sport! That is something I would love to witness :D

Last year we stayed at this beautiful hotel up in the Norwegian mountains called "Utsikten", where Alice Cooper had stayed a couple of months prior. He apparently loved the golfing opportunities there too, even if he was in the area primarily for a rock festival!

If you are ever wanting a little get away, my Norwegian friends - I suggest checking out this hotel! They offer relaxing spa days and it's such a beautiful view! Maybe next time when I stay there, I might luck out and see the rocker on the green!

My parents have actually seen Alice Cooper live, way before all of his lovely makeup and awesome costumes, playing in a super small town in Canada. Again, I would have loved to have been born to see that too!

Alice Cooper is a genius and I want to post "Poison" on here because I seriously want to cover this tune as well one day. It's that good!

I hope to watch him live one day! :D

The video is bad quality, but close your eyes and enjoy!

This Cat has a Cat Room?

So, this is how my parents treat my cat king Krang while I am out of the country! This guy has quite a spiffy bedroom setup if you ask me. He even snores like my little Kranger! I miss him, but I'll see him soon! :) No idea who made such a room for my cat look-alike, but I am in love with it!

Ellemusic | Did You Ever Acoustic Video!

Here is a super rough video of me playing my song "Did You Ever" today. I was inspired to play some guitar and sing :) I wrote this song a few years ago, and it is still up there as one of my favourites :D

You can check out other stuff I have produced at http://www.ellemusic.com

It's an oldie, but hopefully a goldie to you too!

Super Snowy Stavanger, Norway!

Waking up this morning seemed a little brighter than usual. I got up, looked out of my bedroom window and exclaimed; "Oh my! The snow...there is so much!".

Stavanger isn't really known for getting a lot of snow, even last year there wasn't this much, and this is the second big snowfall this winter! As you can see, I took a picture out of the front, out my kitchen window, and of the back, through the balcony door. I had no means to open the balcony door because all of the snow would have tumbled in ... it's too early for that!

If you arn't currently covered in this fluffy, white stuff - enjoy this winter wonderland through the window too!
