It has already been 8 years since this tragedy. I remember being stuck in Nashville, Tennessee, on this very date - with no way to get home to Canada.
I also remember being in Brooklyn, New York, in a recording studio - only a month after, as this was also the very first time I ever flew in a plane to anywhere. It just so happens I had to be in NYC.
This is probably why I still get antsy pantsy before flying, still. But, I do remember, while waiting to record some vocals, seeing this video by Ryan Adams (who is such a great artist) for the first time. The song is called "New York, New York" - filmed only a couple days before the towers went down in 2001.
I am personally a great fan of Ryan Adams & The Cardinals' "Cold Roses" album. If you haven't heard it yet, you should really check it out.
Here is the lovely song and video for "New York, New York"
I still love you, New York! :)
