Viktor & Rolf Ready-to-Wear Spring 2010
This Dutch duo has left me bewildered, enchanted, and more in love with them every season, ever since the first time I laid eyes on one of their star-designed trenches in 2006.
I knew there was something magical and creative about them that not many designers ever touch on. After obsessing over their Flowerbomb fragrances, I find myself longing for something more from this pair.
In this economic crisis, Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren literally cut back on old tulle dresses to remake some very beautiful designs.
They even managed to cut a perfect hole through a remarkable evening dress as if it was Goldie Hawn in "Death Becomes Her" (awesome movie) but with a sensual, couture twist that they always seem to get, bang on.
This Viktor & Rolf Spring 2010 line seems very androgynous, inspired by cut-up tuxedos, which are brilliantly formed to the feminine touch. If I could relive prom, I would have went with myself since I could rock both looks within one sexy dress!
V&R you are genius. Thank you.
